Victorian Gothic Wedding Inspiration in the Garden
Hauntingly beautiful and poetic, this modern take on Victorian style has the spookiness of an Edgar Allen Poe tale and the romance of “Romeo and Juliet.”
The invitations are out, the feast is set, the hearts are full, but where is the groom? This eerie shoot is anything but your typical love story. It tells the tale of two devoted lovers who are never quite able to reach one another.
The day begins in the Victorian style gardens at Wandering Tree Estate. Our groom, looking dapper in a tailored tux with tails, appears ready to meet his new bride, but his presence is strangely foggy.
She has primped and prepared and looks striking in her white ball gown with black lace details. Time is ticking down, but our bride never finds her way to the altar. You can’t exactly have a wedding without a groom, right? But guests swore they just saw him heading into the feast! She’ll surely find him there at the head of the table, where they’ll share their evening with their loved ones. Guests find their way by means of the elegantly calligraphed seating chart and matching place card ribbons. The table overflows with an array of dark- and light-toned flowers, fruits, and other delicacies for guests to enjoy. The bride can’t seem to shake the feeling that something isn’t quite right.
After wandering through the gardens in search of her love, our bride makes her way to the lake. She waits and waits, but it’s getting dark now and he never makes it to her. Taking in the intricate details of her bouquet, she realizes he won’t be coming. She can feel him, but somehow, he is a world away. He would never leave her, and she must find him. She vows to continue on, searching for her true love no matter how long it takes.
How does he let her know how loved she is when he can’t reach her? Their undying love will live on forever.
