Pretty in Pastel for Andrea & Chris at The Peninsula
Whimsical and romantic, Andrea and Chris’ wedding was set straight out of a movie. Hosted at The Peninsula, the September day was filled with elegant wedding details and a whole lot of love.
The couple’s ceremony took place at The Peninsula’s Grand Ballroom, a Magnificent Mile gem complete with soaring floor-to-ceiling windows and opulent chandeliers. As the guests arrived at the ceremony, they were treated to a magnificent champagne tower surrounded by cascading pink, white, and blue florals by Kehoe Designs. While they awaited the ceremony, they were also offered the opportunity to have professional portraits taken in front of a backdrop adorned with pastel florals and disco balls, adding a touch of whimsy to the elegant setting.
Andrea made a stunning entrance, floating down the aisle to “Can’t Help Falling In Love” by Elvis Presley. After a heartfelt exchange of vows, the celebration moved outside for a cocktail hour on The Terrace. The morning rain sprinkles cleared in time for mingling, passed hors d’oeuvres and signature cocktails in the fresh Chicago air. They served up “The Maeve” and “The Poppy” for their signature cocktails, named after their daughter and their pup, respectively. “The Maeve” was a bourbon-based cocktail featuring a private label bourbon, custom-blended by the bride and groom’s families at Maker’s Mark in Kentucky.
At the reception, guests savored a four-course dinner and shared heartfelt toasts. The celebration carried on as Andrea changed into Nike Air Force 1 sneakers and livened up the dance floor to the tunes of Time by BeatMix Music. Overall, it was an unforgettable and romantic evening, perfectly celebrating their growing family and precious love.
