Local Love – Tina & Josh at Itasca Country Club
Tina and Josh met when getting Italian ice with mutual friends. The couple share a major love for food and their families, enjoy traveling together, and share a similar sense of humor. They felt like they had known each other for years from the very beginning. When it was time to plan their wedding, Tina and Josh knew they wanted a to get married in Chicago surrounded by their closest family and friends.
Their wedding day began with Tina getting ready at her parents’ house with her bridesmaids. They sipped mimosas, had their hair and makeup done, and enjoyed a relaxed and joyful morning together. Tina said she finally felt like the wedding was real once her mom had zipped up her wedding dress. Once everyone was ready, the wedding party convened for photos underneath the “L.” Tina and Josh shared their first look and then took fun photos with their wedding party before heading to the church for the ceremony. “All of the butterflies that were built up for the day definitely came out when we saw each other at the church and exchanged our vows,” Tina shared.
Once they were officially “Mr. and Mrs.,” Tina and Josh joined their guests at Itasca Country Club for their reception. The reception décor featured blush pinks with metallic and natural elements. The bouquets and centerpieces featured pampas grass and statement flowers. Tina loves building things, so she created a gorgeous wooden seating chart sign and crafted the greenery hoops that served as a backdrop on the large wall of the reception room.
The couple loves food, so they made sure that they chose a venue with a decadent menu. They also treated their guests to “make your own” candy bags and homemade cookies alongside their beautiful (and tasty!) wedding cake. Tina and Josh decided to eat together alone at a sweetheart table at the reception, and Tina’s favorite memory from the big day was looking out at everyone they loved sitting together in one room. “I really enjoyed that we got to take photos in a traditional sense at the church as well as in the neighborhood where my wife grew up,” Josh shared.
Would the couple change anything about their wedding day? According to Tina: “I honestly think that everything went pretty perfectly and we were both so happy. We couldn’t find a flaw! It will always be the most special day for us both filled with all the love we could want!”
