Local Love – Eileen & Joe
When Eileen was drug by her sister to a concert she didn’t want to attend, she never guessed she would meet the love of her life at the House of Blues. Joe and Eileen met at the concert when Joe’s brother (who had convinced Joe to attend the concert against his wishes as well) came over to talk to Eileen’s sister. After their unexpected meet-cute, the couple began dating and learned that they loved experiencing life together. Eileen said she knew they were perfect for each other because, “Our relationship has never felt like work,” and they always made each other laugh.
On the morning of their wedding day, Eileen gathered with her sister, best friend, mom, and two aunts. The women got ready together at the Crowne Plaza West Loop, enjoying some quiet, meaningful time together. Meanwhile, Joe prepped for the day with his brothers, parents, and the couple’s two-year-old son. Eileen and Joe exchanged vows in a beautiful, traditional Greek ceremony at St. Basil Greek Orthodox Church. Once they were officially Mr. and Mrs., the couple headed to their intimate reception to celebrate with their closest family and friends.
When they decided to get married, the pair knew they wanted to tie the knot in a unique venue in the city. They found the perfect neutral space with tons of natural light to achieve a classic, romantic, and laid back vibe for their Big Day. They chose to keep their color palette fresh with whites and creams and added in plenty of greenery. Their tables featured eucalyptus runners and lots of candles on white linens, with white ranunculus as their floral element and pops of cream and gold throughout the décor. The reception was exactly what they had dreamed of— pretty, romantic, and laid back fun. Everyone enjoyed the delicious food, plentiful drinks, mingling with the newlyweds, and tearing up the dance floor.
When we asked Joe about his favorite part of their wedding day his answer was succinct and sweet, “Seeing my bride for the first time.” Eileen really loved seeing her son dressed up and seeing her husband waiting for her at the end of the aisle. They both wanted the focus of the day to be a celebration of their love for each other and their appreciation for their friends and family. Eileen and Joe planned a Big Day that was a perfect reflection of their life together and their priorities: laughter, family, friends, and lots of fun.
