A Breath of Fresh Air for Kirsten and Cody
This May, Kirsten of Olive Fine Weddings married her husband, Cody, at Chicago Marriott Southwest at Burr Ridge in a classic and timeless celebration.
Kirsten and Cody met at a mutual friend’s wedding in Mississippi in April 2018. At the time, Kirsten was living in Arizona and Cody in Chicago. Conveniently, Kirsten had a few trips to Chicago planned in preparation for her cousin’s September 2018 wedding. The two took advantage of these visits up from Arizona that summer and soon they were officially an item. After about a year of dating long-distance, Kirsten made the move up to Chicago in the summer of 2019. The following year, Cody asked “the question” on a sunset hike in Arizona and the rest is history.
Having worked in the event industry for 13 years and weddings specifically for six years, Kirsten knows a thing or two about making a beautiful event come to life. The first choice to set the tone of the wedding was the venue. The couple selected Marriott Southwest at Burr Ridge as their celebration location. They fell in love with the floor-to-ceiling windows in the cocktail hour space. The natural light made it feel like they celebration was held outdoors – but without bugs or sunburns!
A color palette of periwinkle, sage and peach provided a springtime air to the festivities. Altogether, Kirsten and Cody’s wedding was about as classic as it gets. As expected for a wedding planner’s own wedding, every detail came together seamlessly and smiles were beaming everywhere by the end of the day.
