After falling in love in Savannah, Julia and Eric knew they’d tie the knot there. An elegant and intimate wedding of 30 guests seemed like the perfect way to celebrate. The day began with an outdoor ceremony at Columbia Square, where guests sat in vintage pews. Julia made her way down the aisle in a simple silk Amsale gown and custom Italian veil.
“Amsale came to the rescue! With only a three-month engagement, I had to find my dream gown at a moment’s notice. I slipped on the silk gown with a custom Italian veil and the rest is history.”
Her bouquet was a variety of stems in wine and burgundy. Eric’s tie matched perfectly and served as a pop of color against his gray vest and navy suit. Sealed with a kiss, the newlyweds, along with their loved ones, took a historic trolley ride around the city from Old Savannah Tours, which would carry them to a glowing outdoor reception at the Harper Fowlkes House.
“We loved the history, the courtyard and the fact that it was the perfect size for our little gathering. The house had these quirky little architectural aspects that we could not say no to!”
Southern charm and elegance carried throughout the décor. An abundance of deep blooms, lush greenery and candles sat atop vintage tables with gold chargers, navy linen napkins and custom engraved place cards from Germany. Julia and Eric’s seats were marked with peaches that read Mr. and Mrs. A coursed dinner of southern favorites was served, along with homemade Georgia peach sorbet and a tiered hummingbird cake. The couple shared their first dance and enjoyed an evening of music by local artist Isaac Smith.
