From the Bride:
“Bobby and I met in college in NYC, a classic situation where our roommates were dating so we ended up hanging out quite often. Our friendship grew during our time in college, but we departed our separate ways after graduation, still keeping in touch. Bobby went off to grad school in Philadelphia, and I started working in NYC. Funny enough, we started to chat more and more after we were apart, and before we knew it, I was visiting Bobby in grad school on the weekends. Our friendship eventually turned into dating, and who would have thought we would get married 6 years later!
“Bobby’s proposal was as romantic as any girl would hope. We took a trip to visit Charleston, SC, and being the foodies we are, Bobby planned a private food and drink tour with a local curator who took us around to some breweries, restaurants, and more for tastings galore. The driver dropped us off downtown at the end, close to where our evening dinner plans were. After hanging out near the water a bit, on our walk over to the restaurant, Bobby took a quick detour and asked me to follow him onto this really beautiful, tiny, cobblestone alleyway where the walls were covered in vines. Before I knew it, he was down on one knee and I said yes! He then played me a video from his phone, with a compilation of all of our closest friends and family’s recorded ‘congratulations’ videos – I was so overwhelmed with happiness. By the way, the alley was called ‘Philadelphia Way.’
“We were set on a destination wedding and were looking for warm options within 3-4 hours of NY where most of the guests would be traveling from. After doing general searches for destination options online, we filtered down to hotels that offered an indoor reception space (less options than you would think when heading to the warmer weather). We are huge architecture fans and love to travel, so when we came across the Kimpton Seafire, we were basically immediately in love. We had stayed at the hotel chain before and were impressed with their decor, level of service, and attention to detail. Once we researched the Cayman Islands even more, we just knew it was the right place for us. Quiet, unassuming, beautiful beaches, great hotel, top-notch vendors available – it was a done deal!
“My favorite part about our wedding decor was a tie between the photo wall – a humongous live greenery wall with an installed “By Your Side” (our first dance song) neon light – and the ceremony setup. The triangle arch o the lawn, with the white rose petal aisle and curved seating totally fit our vibe and vision; the aerial shots of the space that Chad captured via drone look incredible.”
