Iris & Angelique’s Tropical Disco Dream
With a “tropical, disco, urban” wedding vision in mind, Angelique and Iris said “I do” surrounded by palm trees and disco balls. The perfect stage for their desired theme naturally was the Fulton Market staple, Carnivale.
Fun, personalized details such as their signature cocktail, “Last Disco” (a play on words for the cocktail, “The Last Word”), a flavorful Latin-infused dinner and the tropical-disco ambiance were seen throughout the event. There’s no denying that this one one vibrant and passionate celebration!
The brides wanted their attire to be modern and elegant while still matching their bright and playful theme. Angelique was custom outfitted by SuitShop with a statement blazer from MOGU. Topping off her look was a luxurious, feather accented fedora by Goorin Bros. Iris opted for a classic strapless ballgown paired with a pearl accented veil. To give her look an extra kiss of personality, the timeless look was enhanced with pink Manolo Blahnik pumps.
Beyond the playful disco aesthetics, Angelique and Iris wanted their wedding focus to go beyond just their relationship. What better way to celebrate romantic love than to extend it to community love? This couple wanted to bring the notion of a “party with purpose” to fruition with their wedding celebrations.
“We wanted our love to extend beyond our special day and more into our communities,” the couple shared. In lieu of gifts, the couple made a donation to one of their favorite Chicago nonprofits, Girls in The Game. Additionally, they paid special attention to selecting vendors who were either small businesses, female business owners of color and/or those who use their influence and dollars to give back to the community.
