Field Museum Splendor for Samridhi & Prateek

After a stunning destination wedding in March 2023 at the majestic Alsisar Nahargarh in Rajasthan, India, Samridhi (“Sam”) and Prateek brought their celebrations back to the U.S. with a memorable reception in Chicago. The event, held at the iconic Field Museum in May, was nothing short of spectacular.

The day began with preparations at the Marriott Marquis Chicago in South Loop. Sam and Prateek enjoyed breathtaking views of the city’s skyline and waterfront from their suites, setting the tone for a perfect day. Sam got dressed in a hand-embroidered red and gold long jacket and sharara by Ritika Mirchandani, exuding traditional elegance with a modern twist. Prateek matched her glamour with an intricately beaded tuxedo from Ejaaz Couture, epitomizing sophisticated style. Once ready, the couple took to the serene shores of Lake Michigan with their photographer, King & Opal, for a series of stunning portraits.

As evening approached, Sam and Prateek made their way to the Field Museum, where guests were welcomed into the grand Stanley Field Hall. Upon arrival, attendees were greeted by the sights of Máximo, the Titanosaur cast, and a flock of Pterosaurs suspended in mid-flight, setting an extraordinary scene for the festivities. From the second-floor balcony, guests enjoyed cocktails while taking in panoramic views of the fossil-filled marble floors and pink florals by Kehoe Designs.The celebration was enriched by the enchanting sounds of the Chicago Immigrant Orchestra, which performed a spectacular set complete with sitar, tabla drums and a Tibetan throat singer.  As the night progressed, the joyous atmosphere grew as family and friends joined in both choreographed and free dances.

Sam and Prateek’s Chicago reception was a perfect blend of traditional elements, cultural infusions and their own love story. Surrounded by dinosaur fossils and the museum’s Fighting Bull Elephants taxidermy, Sam and Prateek danced off into the night to make history of their own.
