Classic Meets Modern Plum Hollow Country Club Wedding
Brian caught Carolyn’s eye working as a cashier at Busch’s nearly nine years ago. Despite going to rival colleges (Carolyn at University of Michigan and Brian at Michigan State), they fell for each other.
They persevered through several years of long distance dating after college when Brian moved to New York. Carolyn found a teaching job in Buffalo, and the pressure was on for Brian to propose. He chose the one weekend a year that they really don’t like each other (jokingly) – the Michigan vs. Michigan State football game.
While taking their dog, Rugby, for a walk before the game, Brian got down on one knee and asked the question Carolyn felt she had been waiting ages to hear… “Will you marry me?”
Brian was very strategic in choosing the weekend he did, as he knew Carolyn would be happy regardless of the outcome of the game! They celebrated the rest of the day with family, friends, and champagne.
Their wedding ceremony took place at Metropolitan United Methodist Church with their reception at Plum Hollow Country Club in Southfield, Michigan. Evolve Salon & Day Spa and Erin Homrich helped get Carolyn wedding ready and a stunning gown from Wedding Shoppe, Inc. was the icing on the cake. With Brian and the groomsmen in grey suits from Jos. A. Bank, and the bridesmaids in blush Azazie dresses, the bridal party looked the part for this classic summertime wedding.
With stationary and paper goods from Minted, a floral adorned cake from Holiday Market and simple, yet elegant florals from Bishop Design and Display, the couple’s classic country club vibe was achieved. Ryan T. of Mike Staff Productions kept guests dancing into the evening and Stephanie Kaslly Photography was there to capture all the details and special moments of this sweet wedding.
