Cami & Ethan’s Timeless Garden Wedding at the Chicago History Museum
When Cami and Ethan envisioned their wedding day, they imagined a lush, elegant, and timeless celebration, evoking the charm of a garden nestled within the heart of Chicago. Their dream came to life at the Chicago History Museum, where the couple’s love story unfolded amidst a verdant, charming setting.
Originally from Dallas, TX, and Wisconsin, respectively, Cami and Ethan met at Northwestern University and have made Chicago their home since graduation. Cami, a technology consultant, and Ethan, an MBA student at The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, have grown up together in this city, so naturally they wanted to marry in Chicago, too. “It was so special getting married in the place where we met, got engaged and where our love really developed,” says Cami.
Cami and Ethan chose the Chicago History Museum as their venue for its timeless elegance and perfect settings. Notably, the couple utilized the venue’s outdoor plaza for their ceremony, with the dramatic staircase as a perfect aisle. Inside, the gallery provided an intimate and bright space for cocktail hour. Finally, with its black and white floor, the main reception room set the stage for an unforgettable reception.
The bride’s vision for the day was clear: to transform the museum into a verdant oasis filled with florals. The venue was adorned with blossoms in every corner, from the entrance to the reception hall. Towering tree-like structures graced the tables, creating an ambiance that felt both intimate and grand. The natural beauty of the museum’s architecture and the lush floral arrangements captured the essence of a Chicago garden in full bloom.
Every detail of Cami and Ethan’s wedding was thoughtfully curated and personalized, making the evening special to all who witnessed. The wedding was filled with personalized touches, including their custom wedding crest and monogram displayed on the bar, koozies, and cups, while signature drinks like “Spritzing in Saugatuck” and “Paper Plane to Paris” paid homage to their favorite travel destinations. Additionally, desserts featured purple and white sprinkles in a nod to their alma mater, Northwestern University, and guests enjoyed mini espresso martinis, late-night Chicago-style hot dogs and cheese curds – a tribute to Ethan’s Wisconsin roots. Light-up cowboy hats on the dance floor added another playful touch, celebrating Cami’s Texas upbringing.
Surrounded by the city that witnessed their growth and the people who supported their journey, Cami and Ethan’s celebration was an intimate, joyous affair that beautifully showcased their story.
