Couples looking to host a wedding in Chicagoland have hundreds of options. What makes The Glen Club so unique?
[The Glen Club] is where Chicagoland’s scenic beauty meets timeless elegance for a wedding experience as unique as your love.
What is The Glen Club’s origin story? How long has it been around?
The Glen Club was established in 2001 on the former site of the Glenview Naval Air Station, transforming the historic land into a premier golf and event destination. Designed by renowned golf course architect Tom Fazio, the championship course quickly gained recognition for its stunning landscape and challenging play. Since its opening, The Glen Club has become a centerpiece for golfing, weddings, and events in Chicagoland.
A major renovation in 2017 modernized the clubhouse and amenities, enhancing its elegant spaces and upgrading facilities to meet the evolving needs of members and guests while preserving its timeless charm.

We want to get to know you! Whom will couples be working with when they hire you?
When you plan a wedding at The Glen Club, you’ll be in good hands with Event Sales Manager Kate Vivacue and Event Sales Coordinator Lauren Henzlik. Kate Vivacue joined The Glen Club in July 2021, bringing a wealth of experience and a passion for event coordination. A 2019 graduate of the University of Dayton, Kate launched her career as a catering project manager with SBR Events Group, where she excelled in managing and executing a variety of events. When not collaborating with clients to plan their dream events, Kate enjoys spending time with her husband, Matt, playing games, solving puzzles and playing volleyball. She also loves catching up on The Office with Matt, as well as spending quality time with family and friends. After tying the knot at The Glen Club in November 2023, the venue holds a special place in Kate’s heart, adding even more meaning to her work. Whether she’s planning events or making memories with loved ones, Kate brings joy and energy to everything she does.
After establishing herself in a thriving career in dental assisting, Event Sales Coordinator Lauren Henzlik decided to follow her heart into event coordinating at The Glen Club. Armed with a rich combination of customer-centric abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and an unwavering commitment to crafting unforgettable experiences, she steps into her new role with fervor. Outside of work, Lauren cherishes moments with loved ones, cheers for the Chicago Bears alongside her boyfriend despite her allegiance to the Minnesota Vikings, and finds solace in revisiting episodes of Friends or The Office.

How does The Glen Club cater to small, intimate weddings vs. big, grand ones? Both?
The Glen Club caters to both small, intimate weddings and grand celebrations by offering versatile spaces, such as cozy, private rooms for more personal gatherings and a spacious Grand Ballroom for larger events while providing customizable packages, personalized service, and attention to detail regardless of the wedding size.
What are your tips for couples who are just starting the wedding planning process, especially those who are still trying to pick a venue?

How early do you recommend clients book your space as their venue?
Given the popularity of The Glen Club, especially during peak wedding season, I recommend clients book their venue 12 to 18 months in advance to secure their preferred date. Our spaces tend to fill up quickly, particularly for spring, summer, and fall weddings, so early booking ensures availability and allows ample time for personalized planning.
