Molly & Justin’s Warm and Joyful Wedding
Mr & Mrs. Smith
Molly and Justin met in Kansas City in 2014 at the creative ad agency they both still work at. As friends and coworkers, they spent the first five years of their platonic relationship going to Royals games, singing karaoke and pretending like they both didn’t have huge crushes on each other.
For Justin, it was Molly’s giant heart, smile and chocolate chip cookies. For Molly, it was Justin’s kindness, sense of humor and glorious red hair. It wasn’t until February of 2019, after Thai food and a movie night with friends, that they started flirtation. And never stopped. They would spend the next two years falling in love over homemade pasta, traveling the country and dozens more of Molly’s chocolate chip cookies. This romance cumulated in a joyful and heartfelt proposal at Lincoln Park Zoo’s Alfred Caldwell Lily Pond.
A Stylish Start
The festivities kicked off at the Hilton Chicago, where the bridal party got ready with a view of Grant Park’s autumnal foliage and the sparkling lakefront. The bridesmaids donned clay-colored PJ sets, cozy slippers and trendy sunglasses as they sipped mimosas, danced to music and got pampered by the talented team at Hannah Elisabeth Beauty. With a bustling suite of 12 bridesmaids and two moms, the early 7:00 am start became into a relaxed and joyous bonding time.
Styled by Something White Styling, Molly unveiled her Ines Di Santo gown (purchased at Ultimate Bride Chicago) to her bridesmaids while grooving to Wilson Phillips’ “Hold On.” First looks with family members followed, exhibiting emotional connections that tearful embraces. Molly and Justin separately headed across the street to Grant Park for their own first look. Surrounded by the vibrant hues of fall foliage, the couple’s first look was a magical moment.
Love in Full Swing
The procession was a symphony of emotions set to music: family members walked down the aisle to “Moon River,” the wedding party to “Your Song” and finally, Molly and her father to “Here Comes the Sun.” The ceremony was beautifully personal, with Pastor Shibu Mathew – a close friend of Molly and Justin – officiating and sharing joyful and heartfelt insights about the couple.
