Artfully Whisked Away with Gabrielle & Kyle
From the moment Gabrielle and Kyle’s wedding guests received their invitations, they were whisked away to a world of enchantment. Inspired by the bride’s favorite painting at The Art Institute, “The Banquet” by Rene Magritte, this Greenhouse Loft wedding captured the breathtaking beauty of sunrise and sunset.
Guided by Priya Parker’s book, “The Art of Gathering: How We Meet and Why It Matters,” Gabrielle and Kyle sought to create a unique and purposeful experience for their guests. They settled on a concept of “Midsummer Night’s Dream themed Met Gala on a rooftop at sunset” to transport their guests to a temporary world of magic.
Gabrielle, who previously worked in theater production, utilized her skills in set design and stage management to bring their vision to life. Hanging installations of painted baby’s breath flowers evoked cloud-like formations and added a touch of whimsy. Just like in theater, the couple’s guiding principle was to prioritize the guest experience, ensuring that every moment was truly unforgettable.
Because of the post-COVID rush of weddings in 2022, the couple opted for a Friday wedding rather than a traditional Saturday date. To extend the celebrations throughout the weekend, Gabrielle and Kyle invited all their guests to an architecture river tour the day after the wedding. This also served as a wonderful introduction to the city of Chicago for many of their guests who were visiting the city for the first time.
With its carefully curated theme and unwavering focus on guest experience, Gabrielle and Kyle’s wedding was truly a magical affair. Accompanied by the melodies of a live jazz trio and the soft twinkle of fairy lights, the evening was a transportive experience to remember.
