A Romantic Weekend in Santorini
Planned and detailed by Wedicity, this Designer’s Challenge team created a romantic Santorini affair in the heart of Chicago’s Millennium Park neighborhood. The contemporary Greek venue, Avli On the Park, served as the team’s starting point for inspiration. Achieving a stunning display of bougainvillea pink, azure and sailing rope tan, Marc & Mindy Photography captured the works of ECBG Cake Studio, F&S Linens, Maison Du Prince, Nerissa B Modern Calligraphy and Wedicity at Avli On The Park.
An ambiance of Mediterranean life wafts through Avli’s fresh and bright dining room. On any given day, this ambiance is present. But Wedicity’s vision and Maison Du Prince’s florals and decor add a new vibrancy. Playing off traditional Greek tile motifs, Chinoiserie vases and vintage tableware added gloss and Grecian blue punches to the wicker accents and lush linens. Grecian tile work was echoed again on ECBG Cake Studio’s five-tier cake and Nerissa B Modern Calligraphy’s signage.
The outcome evokes the breeze of salty ocean air and the smell of lush lemon trees. Moreover, this team’s design shows that the Cyclades islands aren’t so far away after all.

In our design, we really wanted to capture bringing the outdoors in with a heavy accent of bright, colorful florals and rich Grecian blues. With this theme, we incorporated a lot of texture in each of the details.
