Bryn & Andy’s Traditional Wedding at Chicago History Museum
A love of sailing first brought Bryn and Andy together at Ohio’s Miami University, but it wasn’t until after graduation that they formed a deeper connection. After dating long-distance for two years, Bryn moved to Chicago to be closer to Andy, and a few years later, on a vacation to Bryn’s family’s summer home in Maine, Andy proposed during a sunset stroll on the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
Bryn and Andy were married on a crisp, sunny day in November 2019 at Chicago’s St. Alphonsus Church. Bryn graced the aisle in a Romona Keveza gown that channeled 1950’s starlet Grace Kelly, and her bridesmaids wore Monique Lhuillier gowns in Bryn’s favorite color: French blue. Following the ceremony, Bryn and Andy headed out for photos with the bridal party in a 1992 Range Rover that Andy had restored, arriving in Olive Milton Lee Park where Bryn had a surprise waiting — their rescue dog Rascal, ready for his close-up in a bow tie.
The Chicago History Museum was the perfect venue for Bryn and Andy’s “traditional with a twist” reception. Bryn, a wedding caterer, opted for an adventurous menu that included steak tartare, smoked salmon, fried quail eggs, Cabernet-braised short ribs, lamb shank and pan-seared sea bass. After dinner, guests danced the night away to the big band sounds of the 11-piece Taylor Pace Orchestra, and Bryn and Andy started their married life by kicking up their heels, remaining on the dance floor to the end of the night.
