Local Love – Annie & Mike at The Langham, Chicago
Annie and Mike met as grade school students when they attended lifeguard camp together. They were good friends in high school and then went their separate ways for college, reuniting as adults at a mutual friend’s tailgate for the Northwestern v. Wisconsin football game. The couple found they were truly happiest when together, which made them feel lucky to have found each other again after so many years apart.
Their wedding began with a traditional Catholic ceremony at Annie’s childhood church. Annie had a 150 ft aisle to walk toward Mike, and they both treasured the magic of seeing each other for the first time. The atmosphere was relaxed a bit when Mike got everyone laughing when he unnecessarily made the sign of the cross while they were exchanging vows! After Annie and Mike were officially married, they enjoyed hanging out with the wedding party, relaxing, and starting the celebration with some fun music and champagne.
Annie and Mike’s reception at The Langham, Chicago was classically elegant. They used a color palette of white, grey and blush, which looked sharp against the black bridesmaids’ dresses and black tuxes the wedding party wore. The floral arrangements featured classic, white flowers with a hint of blush, bright emerald greenery and lots of texture. The mix of ranunculus, garden roses, roses, lilies and greenery created a classic, sophisticated look that felt timeless. The reception table centerpieces were a mix of tall and short arrangements, paired with candles, for an inviting, warm vibe. It was important to Annie and Mike that their guests feel welcomed to enjoy the beauty of the reception space along the river as much as they did!
The bride and groom were excited to show off their choreographed and rehearsed first dance to an impressed audience. After the formalities of toasts, dances and cake cutting, they danced the night away with their guests. Annie and Mike agreed that spending time with their closest friends and seeing everyone there to support them was one of the best parts of their entire Big Day.
