Here’s Why You Shouldn’t DIY Your Wedding
Written by Jennifer Matteo, Jennifer Matteo Event Planning
Let’s be real, who wants to run around on their wedding day feeling crazy, stressed and most likely remembering you forgot something along the way and you have no idea how to fix it? THIS is exactly why NOT to DIY your wedding. Your wedding day morning should be full with bride tribes and mimosa merriment while feeling totally pampered by the beauty pros who are making you oh-so-fabulous for your big reveal.
I know I’m a planner and due to that, I’m partial to hiring professionals to bring your wedding day dreams to life, but it really does make a HUGE difference. I have never had a client say, “Man, I wish I did all this by myself!” It’s just not a thing. Yes, I am aware of the word budget and I know that every wedding has one, but there are ways to be creative with the “B” word and really get the most bang for your buck! That’s where your planner comes in.
We get LOADS of freebies along the way—special considerations, discounts—and above all we know how to work the system. Our vendors love to work with us and we love to work with them, so we get special perks that we can pass on to you, which is invaluable! Look at it this way—your wedding planner (who can totally be me by the way—call me!) is an investment and an insurance policy rolled up into one. We make sure that you invest in your wedding in the right ways. There are places to spend and places to save, but we also insure that you are choosing the right finishing touches and details to bring your vision to life.
In the end, your wedding day should look like a work of art and be “branded” from the beginning, so that every detail has a thoughtful purpose. You can’t get that from ordering a bunch of stuff from Amazon and hoping for the best, or by asking your bridal party to bedazzle something. I promise, they don’t want to spend the next year crafting with you. In the end, DIY is just NOT a good idea, so please save yourself, pick up the phone and hire a planner!
