A Stage Wedding
When Norma first met Bobby twelve years ago she says she couldn’t stand him, but eventually, thrown regularly together through work, the two became close friends and finally began dating. Then one night Bobby, who Norma says is rarely at a loss for words, seemed to be having trouble. She began to worry that he was about to break up with her, but then he pulled out the ring and managed only a “Well?” “He was so nervous that I never stopped to think he was trying to propose,” she says. When they were deciding where they wanted to get married, they chose “on stage” at the Genesee Theatre. “Can you tell we are both a little dramatic?” asks Norma.

CEREMONY
The marriage ceremony took place under the theatrical lighting on the 4600 square foot main stage of the Genesee Theatre, Waukegan. As the couple kissed, the red and gold gilded curtain rose to expose the dramatic reception area.

Agape Weddings, Ingleside, handled both the photography and videography. Photos were taken all over the Genesee Theatre, including in front of the theatre’s marquee which said “Norma & Bobby in The Wedding” as well as on the balcony by the marquee.

Memory Makers DJ Services, Lindenhurst, provided great music that even inspired Bobby and his friends to get into a break dancing competition.
GOWN
Maggie Sotero’s Valencia gown, with a strapless bodice, sweetheart neckline, dropped waist and asymmetrically draped a-line skirt. Tuscany lace and swarovski crystals decorate the bodice.
