A Homemade Touch
In planning their wedding, Anne knew she wanted lots of handmade touches. Both she and Dan ended up making a variety of pieces for their ceremony and reception that made the day that much more special for them and their guests: from fuzzy flip flops for their female guests (“a huge hit!”) to moss-covered initials for the chapel doors and a Tuscan overhang for the bar during cocktail hour (to go with the Rustic Tuscan theme). | | Chicago Resources
INVITATIONS
Gourmet Invitations, Michigan, helped Anne design a swirled design interlaced on olive paper with a gold band on the invitations.

RECEPTION
The evening began with cocktails outside in the beautiful gardens of the Winnetka Community House. Dinner and dancing took place inside in a beautiful room with one wall made entirely of gorgeous windows overlooking the garden. After sunset, Anne and Dan had the garden filled with 100+ handmade luminaries for a magical scene.
CAKE
Rolf’s Patisserie, Lincolnwood, provided a scrumptious four layer cake made of red velvet, vanilla, and double devils chocolate, and topped with ivory icing decorated with gold ribbon, red roses, Japanese eggplant and baby artichokes.
CATERING
Catered by Design, Morton Grove
FLOWERS
Anne’s bouquet which gave the illusion of being one big flower, but was actually made up of many different ones was provided by Floral Galleria, Ltd., Arlington Heights.
MUSIC
For the cocktail hour, Moeller Music, Wonder Lake, IL, provided a guitar and cello duo and for the reception the DJ Toast and Jam kept the dance floor packed all night.

A sherbert-colored Lazaro gown in a mermaid-cut with gold embroidering over English netting and fresh water pearl and Swarovsaki crystal detailing on the bodice. Purchased at Macy’s.
