Meaningful Additions
When planning a wedding, many times couples need to personalize it so that they bring in both cultures. Maya and Troy had a traditional Catholic ceremony with a twist. They incorporated several traditional Filipino elements-- the coin ceremony, in which the groom offers his bride 13 coins, symbolizing his pledge of faithfulness, the veil ceremony symbolizing unity, and the cord ceremony in which a white cord in a figure eight is put on the veil symbolizing eternal love.

CEREMONY
Assumption Catholic Church, downtown Chicago. As the couple left the church, they handed out bells with pink, orange or red ribbon with a tag saying “Ring in Troy and Maya’s wedding.”
RECEPTION
Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza. As the evening began, guests had a spectacular view of the Chicago River and city skyline as the sun went down. The color theme was red, pink and orange with white striped table linens and white Chivari chairs with white cushions. Each table had a name that meant something special to the couple—The Drink, the dance club where thy first met, Costa Rica, where they would soon take their honeymoon, and Deja Brew, their favorite bar in Oak Lawn.
CAKE
House of Fine Chocolates, Chicago. Inside, a delicious yellow cake with apricot cream and chocolate buttercream filling, frosted with white chocolate ganache. Outside, a stunning three-tier square cake with “M&T” on second tier instead of as a topper.
