A Planned Wedding

While surprises are nice, sometimes what you want is for everything to just go as planned. For Audra and Dan, that wish came true. With good friend and professional event planner and caterer Marcus Ford (of The X Factor), overseeing all the details, the result was exactly what the couple wanted. From the delicious food and their signature drink —the Dandra, a little Dan and a little Audra—to decorating the bar room with hanging candelabras and leopard print table clothes and pillows, Marcus created a night of beauty and calm.
Chicago Resources

CEREMONY
St. Sylvester’s Catholic Church, across from Palmer Square, is a beautiful old church with exquisite stain glass windows.

OFFICIANT
Fr. Robert Oldershaw, the bride’s childhood priest.

RECEPTION
The Stan Mansion, just a few blocks away from St. Sylvester’s, provided several venues for the reception: a beautiful courtyard for socializing and cocktails outdoors, a foyer with candle lit stairs going up to the second floor where there is a small bar room and giant ballroom. Added drama was created with gorgeous draping supplied by Deborah from the Art of Imagination, Chicago. In the hall, she used lights behind sheer fabric which gave the room a starlight quality.

CATERING
Marcus Ford of The X Factor, Chicago.

CAKE
An indulgence in layers of imported chocolate: A layer of Chocolate Sahara Espresso cake and chocolate mousse with fresh raspberries; a layer of deep fudge cake and chocolate cinnamon crème brulee, and a layer of hazelnut butter sponge cake and passion fruit and chocolate ganache, all covered in white chocolate French buttercream, provided by The X Factor.

WEDDING GOWN
A San Patrick ivory lace gown with ivory lining, lace cap sleeves, clear sequin accents, an a-line skirt and a small train.

BRIDESMAID DRESSES
Custom made by Gerri Johnson of Emma’s Lace, Chicago, each dress was designed to fit the individual bridesmaid’s tastes, but were unified by using the same deep plum material.

GROOM & GROOMSMEN FORMALWEAR
Calvin Klein two-button jacket with notched lapel and bow ties.

FLOWERS
Marcus Ford, The X Factor

PHOTOGRAPHER
Andrew Collings Photography, Chicago

MUSIC
Ceremonial music was provided by Scott Arkenberg of St. Nicholas Parish, Evanston, on piano, accompanied by Elizabeth Lindau of the Chicago Band, Canasta, on violin.
